Course Objectives
The objective of this course is to provide an intense update on advances in cancer biology, from carcinogenesis to epidemiology, etiology and therapy. The course aims to provide a translational view of cancer, from basic science to clinical applications.
The course program will update participants on:

Genetic and epigenetic alterations; tumour dynamics and hallmarks of cancer;

Introduction to metakaryotic stem cells; biology and physiology of cancer cells;

Epidemiology and etiology of cancer;
-
Carcinogenic mechanisms and development of cancer;
-
Therapy of cancer: from conventional therapies to novel approaches.
Duration of the course
The course comprises 20 lectures. Attendance is possible following registration and payment of a fee.
However, the course includes one conference open to the entire scientific community (free of charge) on the discovery of metakaryotic stem cells.
Lectures: 60 mins followed by 30 mins discussion; 4 lectures/day
Total duration of lectures: 30 hours
Teaching language: English only
Audience
The course is aimed mainly at international post-graduate students (master and PhD students), young researchers, post-doctoral researchers, oncologists and University lecturers. However, the course is open to the entire international scientific community at University level. Previous knowledge on oncobiology is highly recommended.
