Prof. Nuno Oliveira, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor with Aggregation, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lisbon (FFULisboa) - Department of Toxicological and Bromatological Sciences and Researcher at iMed.ULisboa

Nuno G. Oliveira holds a PhD in Pharmacy (Toxicology), Universidade de Lisboa (2003), a MSc in Food QualityControl and Toxicology(1998) and a degree in PharmaceuticalSciences (1993), Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa. He is currentlyAssistant Professor with Aggregation (Pharmacy, Toxicology, 2015) at the Department of Toxicological and Bromatological Sciences of the Faculdade de Farmácia, Universidade de Lisboa.Nuno Oliveira is an effective member of the Research Institute for Medicines – iMed.ULisboa, and has been especially interested in different areas of Toxicology, mainly in Genetic Toxicology. He has been studying the mechanisms of DNA damage and repair induced by chemotherapeutic drugs, food mutagens, ionizing radiation and radiomimetic compounds. Currently, he is interested in the study of in vitro approaches towards cancer therapy using superoxide dismutase mimics (SODm) and DNA repair inhibitors (e.g. APE1 inhibitors).
